How does our Cooking Class in Cala Gonone work?

Our cooking experience lasts 2 hours: after a guided tour of the Museum Park, we gather in the large traditional kitchen with Caterina, our cook. Once you are provided with flour, semolina, water, and tools, the work begins: the dough is prepared completely by hand (with the help of a mixer only when necessary).

Once the dough is ready, the most fun part of the cooking class begins: we shape "macarrones de punzu". This pasta, similar to orecchiette, requires learning a specific hand movement—after making your first ten, you will already feel like an expert in Sardinian cooking! The second pasta we make is "macarrones de rosinitta", a traditional pasta from Dorgali, similar to tagliatelle. Once the fresh pasta is ready, Caterina will cook and season it to serve to all participants.

S'Abba Frisca Museum Park: Nature & Ethnography

Immersed in a breathtaking natural landscape, the S'Abba Frisca Museum Park preserves the traditions, knowledge, flavors, and scents of the authentic Barbaricina culture. This fascinating itinerary originates from the restoration of an old farm and winds for 500 meters among majestic ancient trees, Mediterranean maquis, and megalithic walkways. The absolute protagonist is the water from the S'Abba Frisca spring, which gives the park its name and feeds fountains, waterfalls, and a lovely lake.

Today, the historic farm stands as the largest ethnographic museum in Sardinia, offering a precious glimpse into rural life between the 17th and early 20th centuries. Inside, you will also find a farm with domestic and wild animals (such as wild boars, peacocks, sheep, goats, and the rare Sardinian and Asinara donkeys), as well as an orchard and a sensory path dedicated to aromatic herbs.

During the summer, on selected dates or upon reservation, the park comes alive with the "Living Museum": unforgettable live demonstrations of ancient crafts, such as filigree working, grain grinding, and the traditional baking of Pane Carasau. Located just 5 km from the centers of Dorgali and Cala Gonone, S'Abba Frisca Museum Park is a top attraction in the area, perfect for families.
